Acacia tetragonophylla (Dead Finish) is a common Australian small tree, large shrub to 10 to 15 feet. It grows naturally along floodplains and water courses in arid to semi-arid areas. Like many Australian trees it has phyllodes instead of a true leaf. The phyllode is slender needle-like 1 to 1.5 inches long. Mature phyllodes are very sharp and stiff. The flower is a yellow ball in clusters.
